An Afternoon at the Denver Children's Museum

Our cousin Austin's birthday is at the end of February.  To celebrate, Justin and Gretchen's family met our family and Aunt Sjani's family in Denver at the Children's Museum.  We didn't have a whole lot of time, but we were able to do just about everything.  We started in the bubble room...

Dad made lots of BIG bubbles!
POP!!!!!
With Lucas in the "Bubble Elevator"
Emma in a bubble!  Look at her expression!
Carson did a good job making his own big bubbles.
Oh no!  Emma got giant bubbles in her hair!  It made for an easy shampoo that night...

Making ramps and rolling balls down.  Joely enjoyed this activity a lot.

Artists at work

Aunt Sjani and Elli creating their masterpiece.
Catching flying scarves.
Sheer delight!
We ended the trip at the fire truck with lights and sirens blaring.
We love our cousins!
For dinner we went to Austin's favorite restaurant, Olive Garden.  We were quite a crew, but they fit us all in up in Fort Collins and we had a scrumptious meal.  It was a somewhat chaotic but very fun evening.  Happy birthday, Austin!

Love My Kids

Carson was asked to create a Valentine's box to collect all of the Valentine's from his classmates on Valentine's Day.  He wanted to make a plane, and he and Dad figured out how to make an awesome one!

It's like Dusty from the movie Planes.

And now a few of my beautiful girls...

Hanging out in their "reading cubby." It's amazing how simple things can entertain them for hours.

This makes me think of a scene from ET.  We definitely have a plethora of stuffed animals at our house!

Joely's 3rd Birthday

February 8th finally arrived, and boy was our Joely excited!  A month earlier we had taken the kids to see Frozen at the movie theater (their first time at a theater) and Joely fell in love with the music and Olaf, the happy snowman.  When I asked her what kind of cake she wanted, she knew it had to be an Olaf cake!  For her birthday, we decided to deck her out in her snowman clothes as well...

Winter's a good time to stay in and cuddle, but put me in summer and I'll be a...Happy Snowman!

Happy 3 Year Old!

My favorite part of the cake is the nose...it was so fun to make and turned out really good.

She's wearing snowman everything.
Whoa!  A little bit crazy...she was ready for me to be done taking her picture.
For dinner we cooked Papa Murphy's pizza.  We had blue jello jiggler squares that were "ice cubes" and white powdered sugar donut holes that were "snowballs".  We had carrots (or snowman noses) and olives (snowman eyes) and other veggies with spinach dip.  It was yummy!

So many presents! I love the flower/card Aunt Sjani made to go with her gift.  It was beautiful!
Joely was super excited to open presents, so we went ahead and did that after dinner and before cake.  She was given so many nice gifts!  Here are pictures of most of them.

Joely had made this bear at Build-A-Bear a couple months earlier, and had waited patiently to have it.  When you push the paw it plays Joely's favorite son, "You Don't Know You're Beautiful!" She named him Polar.
The Whetstones sent a Frozen book and coloring book.  She LOVES them!
Her big gift from Mom and Dad was a karaoke machine.  Joely loves to sing and perform.
She serenaded us with her rendition of "Let It Go" from Frozen.
Grandma and Grandpa McClure gave her all kind of fun baby doll things like a shopping cart and a crib.  Joely was in heaven!
Right before the birthday song...Candles are lit.

Joely and her CUTE cousin Atti.  I love his cheesy smile!

The gang's all here...well, almost.  Poor Dad had to leave right as the party was starting to help someone with an emergency move.  It definitely wasn't good timing for us.  He didn't get home until after the party was over and everyone else had gone home.  At least we had lots of family come to help make it a special day.

And one with me in it...

One more before pajama time.
Other than Dad missing out on the entire party, it was a great evening!  We're SO GLAD to live close to the McClures and Aunt Sjani's family.  Having them celebrate with us made it a special day!
