Great-Grandma McClure's 90th Birthday Celebration

Great-Grandma McClure turned 90 on February 4th.  The aunts and uncles decided to hold a birthday celebration the Saturday before and most of the extended family was able to attend.  We met at Uncle Mike's church in Lehi for lunch, Aunt Janice's chocolate chip cookies (yummy!), singing, storytelling, and sharing favorite memories of Grandma.  Because of her Alzheimer's, I don't think Grandma knew what was going on, but she settled down and seemed to enjoy it.  We even got a few smiles out of her!

My favorite picture from the party. A smiling Grandma with Uncle Bill, Uncle Mike, Dad, and Aunt Janice.

Grandma even had three of her dear friends come to celebrate.  They're sweet ladies!
The McClure clan...almost everybody was able to make it! I think the only ones who couldn't make it were Ben's family, Sara's family, Shawn and Brennan.  Notice...I snagged the tallest guy!  :)
Grandma with all her great-grandkids.
All the grandkids.  I love my cousins!

Grandma as a baby.  Probably late 1924.
Newlyweds, I think.
With Uncle Bill and Uncle Mike. I think Grandma looks like a movie star from that time.
And now we add Aunt Janice.
She's a beautiful lady.
In my earliest memories, this is how Grandma looked. Always beautiful.
Joanna and Krysta played for us.  They're so talented!

We even got Uncle Bill to play his harmonica!
Grandma always told Dave he was such a handsome man! She got that right!
Grandma made these dolls for all the granddaughters. And lots of quilts!
As a bonus to the quick trip to Utah, we got to spend time with Grandma Mona...
and Grandpa Robinson...
And Grandma Jex!
I'm so grateful we were able to go to Grandma McClure's 90th birthday.  It was wonderful to be with all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins and to celebrate an amazing woman who has gone through some incredibly difficult things and maintained her testimony and her optimism.  I'm so proud to be her granddaughter!
