Celebrating Madi and Elli's Birthdays

Everyone came out for Carson's baptism, which was perfect timing for a birthday party for Madi and Elli!  We gathered at Aunt Sjani's house on Friday evening for a BBQ and cupcakes to celebrate our sweet cousins who were turning 2.

I LOVE Elli's cupcakey smile!
Madi didn't want to smile, but she loved her cupcake!

Messy face.
Atti was having a great time with the cousins.
Mud pie, anyone?
The kids had so much fun digging in the tree stump hole.
We missed Dad and Aunt Eliza, who were on their way from the airport, but we had a great time together. It was a good start to a special weekend...

Uncle Riley's Graduation

Riley's graduation ceremony was extremely early in the morning (at least for a Saturday), so Dave and the kids slept while I went to Fort Collins.  I haven't been to a Fort Collins High School graduation since my own, and it brought back so many memories.  I love the traditions FCHS has kept, especially the performance of "Battle Hymn of the Republic."  We enjoyed watching Riley's girlfriend, Tara, present the class gift.  Riley was sitting quite close to us, so it was fun to see him making faces at us during the ceremony.  Afterward we took lots of pictures outside the arena and enjoyed the special day.  Way to go, Riley!

Celebration!

At least he got his hat back!  :)

My little brother is all grown up!

Recreating a picture from 6th grade graduation with a bunch of the kids Riley went to elementary school with..

Shaking Brother Attwooll's hand.  Three good men.

Those crazies...we love 'em!

The photographer looks like Shawn, but it isn't really him.
It was a great day!  Good luck, Riley!

Field Day and the Last Day of School

Carson had great teachers this year.  Mrs. Crittenden in Star Valley and Mrs. Post in Johnstown.  He got along well with his classmates and really had a great year despite being transplanted partway through.  So, it was fun to go to field day and see him running around with his friends and having a great time!

Picking up marbles with their toes and seeing who can get the most!

Apparently he's concentrating really hard, because his tongue is hanging out.

Cheesy Joely had fun watching.

Lining up to change activities.

We couldn't have asked for a better teacher than Mrs. Post.  She's awesome!

T.J. and Logan, two of Carson's best buddies from 2nd grade.  They love football!
Emma's field day was on the last day of school.  We went to watch again and had fun seeing her compete in similar races and games.

Emma and Mrs. Willcox were buddies.  Emma loved her teacher!

Hop, hop, hop!

I love this shot of Emma, totally sailing through the air, racing to get back to the starting line first.

Enjoying a popsicle after running around so much.

Emma's turn with the marbles...she giggled and giggled.

Mrs. Willcox loves Pete the Cat.  This stood outside their classroom door all school year long.

Goodbye kindergarten!

My kids are growing up!

Preschool Field Trip to the Dairy

With only a couple months left in the school year, we got together with some friends and formed a preschool co-op.  It worked out great because we each only had to teach once, and then we organized two field trips to go on together.  Our field trip to the dairy was awesome.  We arrived and were taken to see a brand new calf -- it was only an hour old!  That was my favorite part.

Next we were taken to see the chickens in the chicken coop.  Joely wasn't a fan, but Emma had fun chasing the chickens around.
Since Emma was in afternoon kindergarten and the field trip was in the morning, she got to tag along with the preschoolers!

We got to see the cows getting milked in the milking shed, and then we were taken in to see a video about dairy farms.  In the same room was a little calf that was just a couple weeks old.  The kids got to take turns bottle feeding it.  It was so sweet, but it kept mooing during the movie, and it was LOUD!  The kids kept giggling.  It was either giggle or cry because of how loud it was.  :)

We got to see all the other animals at the farm and then were treated to samples of the cheese and milk the dairy sells.  Both were delicious.  When our tour was done, we treated the kids to some fresh made ice cream.  Wonderful!

Enjoying our ice cream with Jayden.
