Denver Temple Trip

I realized after talking with the kids one day that they had never seen the Denver temple, which was surprising considering that's where Dave and I got married.  So, it became my goal to get them there!  Grandma Jex asked us to pick some things up at Ikea, which is down by the temple, so I used it as our excuse to go.  Of course, I had the worst timing and the temple was closed for remodeling, but we still got to see it and have a picnic just outside the temple grounds!

It was so sunny and bright!

Joely loves the temple!

Proof that we were really there.

It was interesting to see the tarps up over the front of the temple.
After our picnic lunch we drove to Park Meadows Mall so the kids could see the American Girl store and the Lego store.  The girls were in seventh heaven at American Girl.  Joely desperately wanted to buy everything!  It was pretty cute.  Emma had been waiting months to go so she could get a special brush for her Saige doll.  She used Christmas money from Grandpa Ralph and Grandma Carolee and purchased her special item.  Now Saige's hair can be done safely!

At the Lego store the kids each got to build their own Lego mini-figure.  Carson found the right pieces to make his own Harry Potter.  Emma and Joely both made girl policewomen, I think.  It was a lot of fun!

When we were finished at Park meadows we went to Ikea and got Grandma's stuff.  That was an adventure in itself!  We had a great time going all around the store.  Luckily, a worker helped me find the pieces in no time.  We drove back home a bit exhausted but having had a memorable and successful day in Denver.
