July 4, 2014

We started our Fourth of July by meeting Sjani, Ryan and their kids in Old Town Fort Collins for the parade.  I hadn't realized that it was the first parade they had done on the Fourth in forever.  The parade itself wasn't too spectacular compared to our Johnstown and Bountiful parades, but it was still fun because we got to hang out with cousins!
Daddy's shoulders are the best place to watch a parade.
Atti agrees.
After the parade we met back up at a Waffle truck for brunch.  We all thought they were super yummy!  Aunt Sjani and Uncle Ryan know the best places to eat in Old Town.

That evening we attended a block party our great neighbors the Villavicencios were hosting.  We had tons of food, and the kids had a blast running around and being crazy with friends and cousins.  We left to head to City Park in Fort Collins and apparently missed quite the fireworks show right in front of our house!  Thankfully, our house was still standing when we got home.  :) Sjani and Ryan's family drove with us to Fort Collins, where we met the McClures and headed to City Park.  We were concerned because the weather was a bit windy and rainy, but we got lucky and they had fireworks after all.

We loved that we got to enjoy the fireworks with all our Fort Collins family!  It was a fantastic day filled with fun and family and we couldn't have asked for more.  Happy Birthday, America!

On Sunday the kids wore their "America" clothes to church.  I just have to post a picture...
