After years of watching Carson play, Emma's long-anticipated soccer career finally began. And boy did she get off to a wild, cold start! Her first game was freezing with snow blowing horizontally across the field. What's crazy is that it wasn't nearly as cold or snowy at our house when we left for the game, and we only live about a mile away. Emma was a trooper and played her heart out the whole game, despite the weather (and despite other kids on both teams having melt downs and refusing to play because they were too cold). Emma's team totally ran over the other team, winning by several goals. I was so proud of her for sticking with it when it was miserable!
Starting off the game full-speed ahead. |
The snow doesn't look as bad as it really was! |
Taking a break and trying to warm up. She kept that smile on the whole time. |
I love their facial expressions. The funny thing is that five of the kids in the picture were on the same team chasing after the ball at once. |
Still smiling at the end of the game! |
