Spring Break in Utah

The kids and I headed to Utah for Spring Break, despite some nasty weather in northern Colorado.  Luckily, we made it with no problem and got to spend several days with our dear friends, the Whetstones.  When we arrived, Sara had created a "Crazy Cafe" for dinner, where the kids ordered their meal from a coded menu, not knowing what each item really was.  They thought it was great!

These best buddies were so excited to see each other!

Yummy!
While we were there the kids had a blast playing non-stop.  We had dessert night with the Coulams and Dianna Montgomery, had a baptism photo-shoot at the temple (there will be another post about that next), went to the zoo with the Coulams, and chased Joely around when she refused to fall asleep every night.  I love that even though we go months without seeing each other, when we get together with the Whetstones it feels like we haven't been apart.  Thank goodness for wonderful friends!

Anna, Lucy, Sara, and Henry all ready to see the zoo.

We're ready to go too!

I hadn't brought a stroller on the trip with us.  Joely was delighted to share the double stroller with Lucy.

The whole crew.

We loved watching the elephants. Emma was a good sport to pose for me.

Lucy made a new friend!

Lunch time!

What a bunch of crazies...

Emma made a new friend too!

Carson and Anna spent a lot of their time building with Legos.  They created a house that they hoped would make it into the Lego Mazagine.  So far, it hasn't been featured.  But you never know!  The house was pretty awesome.  Emma and Henry had creations of their own too.

On Friday afternoon we got to go see my old Relief Society presidency.  We couldn't all get together at the same place, so first the kids and I went and saw Angela at her new house.  It's gorgeous!  Then we drove to Layton and saw Holly and Melanie at Holly's new house.  Also gorgeous! Holly and Melanie both have new little ones since I moved and I got to meet them.  It was a great morning and I loved seeing some of my favorite sisters.

Me with Holly and Melanie.  I love these ladies!
On Friday afternoon we packed our stuff up at the Whetstones and said goodbye.  It's times like these that I really wish we could teleport. :)  We picked Dave up at the airport and then headed up I-80 to Heber to see Grandpa Jex and his new house.  We got the tour (it'll be wonderful when it's done) and had dinner at a fun railroad restaurant in Heber.  Yummy!  Then we drove down to Orem, shopped at the mall for awhile, and got to Grandma and Grandpa Robinson's for the tail-end of their Paris Mission Reunion.  Boy do we miss Grandpa Robinson and Grandma Mona!  After spending all summer with them in Star Valley, we REALLY miss them!

We watched most of General Conference on Saturday, had pizza with Aunt Myra, Uncle Craig, and cute Madi, and then the kids and I went to see Great-Grandma McClure while Dad and Grandpa Robinson went to the Priesthood session.

Grandma had just finished eating dinner and was sitting at her table with two other ladies.  She wasn't real responsive, but I started singing some songs, and she and the other ladies joined in.  We really had a pleasant visit, and I'm so glad we can drop by and see her when we're in town.

Joely had fun being silly in the bucket at Grandma Jex's house!
We drove home Sunday and were able to listen to the first session of General Conference before we got out of range.  It was a crazy, somewhat sleepless, but wonderful spring break trip!
