We stopped by my parents on our way home from the Jex Reunion. They were gone, but Riley was home and he had a new purchase to share...a bicycle built for two!
Carson hopped on and went for a ride. Pretty awesome!
Dave and I took it for a spin, and I decided I was not made for tandem bikes. I didn't like it at all, which totally surprised me. I'd always envisioned riding a bicycle built for two with my sweetheart being a great bonding experience. It wasn't. Good thing we didn't go on a tandem bike ride when we were dating, or my life might have been very different! :) Just kidding...
We celebrated Dave's birthday by going to dinner while Kacie watched the kids. Buffalo Wild Wings, I think. Then it was home for birthday dessert. A relatively calm and quiet birthday, but we're sure glad this handsome man was born 32 years ago. He is the rock of our family, the one who knows how to fix everything, and who just keeps going and going. I'm not sure how he manages to make everything work between the crazy demands of work and all that he does for our family. He's definitely got some super powers hidden somewhere that he uses on a daily basis. Super powers or not, I am grateful every minute that he's mine and that I have the promise of eternity with him. Sometimes I am still awestruck that the boy I fell for in 9th grade is the one I get to spend forever with, and he just gets better with time. Happy birthday, Sweetheart!
He finally caught up to me...I hate the 5 weeks between our birthdays when I'm "older!" |
